High-Level Inquiry Committee will soon investigate gold smuggling case: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ announced on Friday that the formation process of a high-level committee to investigate the gold smuggling case has commenced.

He provided this update during his address at the House of Representatives meeting.

Prime Minister Dahal disclosed that the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police has completed its investigation into the gold smuggling case, paving the way for the establishment of the high-level inquiry committee.

“Having conducted a thorough investigation into the gold smuggling case and submitted the report to the District Public Prosecutor’s Office, the process of forming the committee is now proceeding as per the agreement reached with various parties, including the main opposition CPN-UML,” he stated.

Emphasizing the completion of the gold smuggling inquiry, the Prime Minister reiterated, “The CIB has concluded its investigation, and in accordance with our agreements, the high-level inquiry process is now in motion.”

Furthermore, Prime Minister Dahal addressed the concerning incident involving the attack on Nepali Congress leader Mahendra Yadav, assuring that it was taken seriously and appropriate actions were initiated.

He expressed his unwavering commitment to preventing such incidents from recurring in the future.
