NC General Secy Thapa announces potential leadership change in Parliamentary Party

The General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), Gagan Kumar Thapa, has made a significant announcement regarding a potential change in the leadership of the party’s parliamentary party (PP).

Thapa stated that once the required number of lawmakers is reached, he intends to move forward with the process of selecting a new leader.

Addressing the media in Biratnagar on Saturday, Thapa emphasized that the NC Parliamentary Party has a provision in its statutes that allows for the replacement of the party leader. He reiterated that they will exercise this provision when the necessary support is achieved within the party.

UML General Secy Gyawali urges smooth implementation of MCC

The Deputy General Secretary of CPN-UML Pradeep Gyawali emphasized the need for the smooth implementation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) project as it has already got approval from the parliament.

Addressing the media people after US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu’s discussion with UML leadership, the UML General Secretary stated, “Considering the MCC’s approval, we believe it should be executed within the designated timeframe without any hindrances.”

On Friday, UML Chairman KP Oli and Lu convened a meeting at Oli’s residence in Balkot, where they also discussed the MCC-related issues.

Nepal Police Club wins title defeating APF

Nepal Police Club (NPC) has won the title of the 7th Prime Minister’s Cup National Volleyball Cup League by defeating Nepal APF Club on Saturday.

In the final, Police defeated APF in a set of 3-1 and confirmed the prize of Rs 600,000. In the match played at the National Sports Council (NSC) Covered Hall, Tripureshwor, NPC won the title by defeating APF in 25-12, 21-25, 25-23, 25-19 sets today.

Nepal exports animal feed to China

Nepal has exported haylage or animal feed for the first time to China. Haylage produced by Horizon International Pvt. Ltd in Bharatpur has been exported to China.

As the first consignment, 10 containers of haylage produced by the company were sent to China on the first day. Henceforth, 20 containers of animal feed will be sent to China every day, says the company. It targets to export 2000 million tons of animal feed to the city of Shigatse in China in one year.

Two Highways Blocked, 15 routes on one-way operation due to flood and landslides

In the wake of relentless monsoon rains, two major highways in Nepal have been completely blocked due to severe flooding and landslides.

The Department of Road (DoR) confirmed that 15 routes are now operating as one-way roads, causing significant disruptions to transportation and posing challenges for local communities.
