Govt. ready to work with private sector for energy development: Minister Basnet



KATHMANDU: Minister of Energy Shakti Bahadur Basnet has said that the government was committed to deepening cooperation with the private sector for power sector development.

Around Rs 2000 billion is required to produce 10,000 megawatts of power in the current cost of production and it will have a far-reaching influence on the economy, he added.

Minister Basnet stated that the government is preparing to announce ‘energy decade’ for the overall development of the energy sector in the country.

Likewise, Minister Basnet said that the ministry was ready to forge collaboration with the private sector for energy sector development.

Minister Basnet said so with a delegation of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).
