8th National Yoga Day being observed today

KATHMANDU: The eighth National Yoga Day is being observed by organizing various programs with the slogan ‘Desire for Healthy Life: Yoga, Education and Sadhana’.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on August 13, 2015, formally decided to observe Magh 1 as National Yoga Day and handed over the responsibility of coordinating it to the Education Ministry.

The cabinet meeting at the proposal of the then Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Narahari Acharya, had announced Magh 1 as the National Yoga Day.

It is believed that it would help people to protect themselves from coronavirus as regular yoga practice increases immunity power.
