Prohibition order imposed in Bhimdatta Municipality amidst political disputes



KATHMANDU: Tensions escalated in Bhimdatta Municipality, Kanchanpur, as the District Administration Office enforced a week-long prohibition order starting Thursday in the vicinity of Samvidan Chowk, located in Bhimdatta Municipality-4.

The decision to impose the prohibitory order comes in the wake of increasing disputes among various political parties over the construction of a statue at Samvidhan Chowk.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is reportedly preparing to erect a statue of the late King Mahendra Shah and organize an event at the Chowk, leading to heightened tensions and the need for administrative intervention.

The prohibition order is aimed at restoring order and preventing potential clashes amid the ongoing political discord surrounding the construction of the statue in Bhimdatta Municipality.
