42 people arrested in Kanchanpur for gambling

KANCHANPUR: In a crackdown on illicit gambling activities, Kanchanpur police arrested 42 individuals from various locations in the district.

The arrests took place during a special operation aimed at curbing gambling during the festival season.

Police raided the residence of Bhim Bahadur Thagunna in Bhimdatta Municipality-17 Banskheda, resulting in the arrest of 28 individuals along with a significant amount of cash last night.

The District Police Office disclosed that a total of 42 individuals involved in gambling have been taken into custody, and more than Rs. 350,000 in cash has been seized.

During the operation, Rs. 258,000 in cash was recovered from gambling dens, and 28 individuals were arrested in Banskheda.

Additionally, police reported that Rs. 25,000 in cash and six individuals were captured in Bhimdatta Municipality-16 Majhgaon, while eight individuals, along with Rs. 22,000 in cash, were arrested in Belauri.
