KATHMANDU: Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the Unified Socialist Party, has denied any involvement in the Lalita Niwas land grab case.

Nepal addressed the media at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday, shedding light on recent developments related to his travel and legal matters upon his arrival from Europe.

Nepal clarified that he had curtailed his scheduled tour of various European countries and returned home due to prevailing reports in Nepal suggesting that he had fled to Europe to evade potential arrest.

“I truncated my Europe tour because of unfounded rumors circulating in Nepal that I left the country to evade arrest in connection to the Lalita Niwas land grab case,” he stated.

“I maintain my innocence regarding the Lalita Niwas land grab scam,” Nepal asserted.

As the former Prime Minister and current Chairman of the Unified Socialist Party, he vehemently dismissed allegations linking him to corruption in the Lalita Niwas matter.

Nepal firmly emphasized his commitment to a thorough investigation of the case and extended his full cooperation in the process.

Expressing his faith in the legal system, Nepal urged for a comprehensive inquiry into the Lalita Niwas land grab case, affirming his unwavering support for the truth to prevail.
