KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has scheduled the hearing of proposed Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki for 8 am, Thursday.

After the discussion with the complainant on Wednesday, the Hearing Committee decided to call Justice Karki tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 8 o’clock.

Earlier the complainants had protested before the Committee demanding that they should be allowed to justify their claim in front of proposed Chief Justice Karki. However, the Committee refused to listen to them and tried to discuss the complaints it had received.

The committee discussed with the complainants for about 20 minutes.

The meeting of the Constitutional Council held at Singha Durbar on May 8 recommended the name of Karki as the Chief Justice. The hearing was delayed as there was no parliamentary hearing committee in existence then.

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee comprises five members each from Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML, two members from CPN-Maoist Center, and one member each from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).
