Top leaders’ meeting called by Speaker postponed



KATHMANDU: The meeting of top leaders of major political parties, which was supposed to be held on Friday, has been postponed.

The meeting which was called to discuss the bills pending in the Parliament, the formation of various parliamentary committees, and other issues has been postponed, Speaker Devraj Ghimire’s Secretariat informed.

The meeting was scheduled for 1 pm today.

Earlier, a meeting of top leaders, including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, was held on the initiative of the Speaker.

The meeting scheduled for today was supposed to discuss the business of the Parliament, including the committees to be formed.

The top leaders of NC, UML, and CPN-Maoist Center have agreed to form parliamentary committees in agreement.
