Kathmandu Metropolis ensures ‘No tobacco substance use’ by officials and employees



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has informed that people’s representatives and employees within the metropolitan area are prohibited from consuming controlled substances including tobacco.

During a press interaction program regarding the control of restricted substances held on Wednesday, spokesperson Navin Manandhar conveyed the information.

Responding to the reporters queries whether representatives and employees consume controlled substances or not, spokesperson Manandhar said that the employees also refrain from consumption.”

The metropolitan city has enforced a halt on the sale and distribution of controlled substances starting from Wednesday.

According to a notice released by the metropolitan city fifteen days ago, the complete sale and distribution of substances like plastic-wrapped tobacco, gutkha, betel nuts, or similar natural substances have been strictly prohibited.
