Scooter rider killed, fire guts property worth around Rs 3 million

KATHMANDU: A person who was injured in a road accident on Sunday died in the course of treatment at Annapurna Neuro Hospital on Monday.

Scooter rider Ritu Subedi, 23, of Ilam, currently living at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-10, was injured when the scooter (Ba 57 Pa 7359) heading towards Singha Durbar South Gate from Maitighar Mandala met with an accident near South Gate, said Deputy Inspector General, Kuber Kadayet.

Meanwhile, property worth around Rs 500,000 was gutted by fire due to cooking gas leakage at a house belonging to Shiva Kumar Rai of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-31.

Similarly, fire gutted property worth around one million rupees when Jalpa Furniture, operated at Lalitpur Metropolitan City-2, of Lochan Mukhiya of Saptari caught fire due to short circuit.

Likewise, property worth around Rs 1.5 million damaged when fire broke out at New Manakamana Hardware operated at Mahalaxmi municipality-5 in Lalitpur, said police.
