Police arrest 8 people, including Dharan Deputy Mayor’s brother



DHARAN: Police apprehended eight individuals, among them Bishnu Begha, who happens to be the brother of Dharan’s Deputy Mayor, Aindra Bikram Begha.

Bishnu Begha faces allegations of assaulting Sandesh Rai from Dharan Suryabasti.

Dharan’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Navaraj Malla, has disclosed that Bishnu was detained as part of an ongoing investigation into a violent altercation that transpired in Dharan on Tuesday.

The initial attack by Bishnu’s group left Sandesh Rai injured, with sharp weapons being employed during the altercation.

Subsequently, following the assault on Sandesh’s group, the assailants targeted Bishnu Begha within the confines of Deputy Mayor Begha’s residence.

The police believe that this incident may have been triggered by longstanding enmity.

In connection to this incident, law enforcement authorities have taken into custody a total of eight individuals.

Those arrested include Suraj Tamang, Menal Tamang, Amrit Tamang, Anil Magar, Dipendra Rai, who goes by the alias Sagar, and Sanjeev Rai.
