Maoist Center decides to recall Minister Modi to vacate seat for Janamat party

The CPN-Maoist Center has decided to recall Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister, Amanlal Modi from the cabinet to vacate a seat for the Janamat Party leader. According to Maoist Center Secretary Devendra Paudel the meeting of the party officials convened at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Sunday made the decision to recall Minister Modi.

100 kg gold enters Nepal illegally every day: KP Oli

CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli claimed that 100 kg gold has been smuggled to Nepal on daily basis. Addressing the press conference at the party’s central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur on Sunday, Oli emphasized that approximately 100 kg of gold is entering Nepal through various customs channels in clear violation of the law. He alleged that virtually every category of goods passing through customs is being exploited for gold smuggling, whether concealed within brakes, cigarettes, or vehicles.

NC lawmaker Sunil Sharma vows to continue demanding Home Minister’s resignation

Sunil Sharma, a lawmaker of the Nepali Congress (NC), has expressed his unwavering commitment to demanding the resignation of Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, citing the compelling concerns surrounding the 100-quintal gold smuggling case. During the NC’s Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting in Kathmandu on Sunday, Sharma stated, “I am resolute in my stance regarding the Home Minister’s resignation. However, I am open to contemplating the resignation of the Finance Minister.”

Domestic, international flights impacted by inclement weather

The operation of both domestic and international flights has been hampered today due to adverse weather conditions. Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) reported that several flights have either been diverted or cancelled as a result of poor visibility caused by continuous rainfall.

All short roads from Hetauda to Kathmandu obstructed

All the short-distance roads from Hetauda to Kathmandu are blocked due to landslides triggered by rains since last night. The Hetauda-Bhainse-Bhimphedi road section is obstructed due to landslide occurred at a distance of two kilometres from Bhainse Bazaar, according to police.
