15 schools in Birgunj Metropolis face music

BIRGUNJ: Birgunj Metropolitan City has taken action against 15 schools operating in the metropolis.

It took the action against those schools that have not acquired and updated the Integrated Educational Management Information System (IEMIS) software.

Educational Administration Division under Birgunj Metropolitan City fined Pashupati Sikshya Mandir, Popular English Boarding School, Peace Zone Academy, Shanti Niketan English primary School, and Gyan Niketan English School.

Likewise, other schools include Baba English Boarding School, Smile Academy, Shree Narsingh Public English Boarding School, Birgunj Public Secondary School, Narayani Academy, Kumudini Academy, Hansaraj English Boarding School, Divya Prakash Academy, Suphaha Ideal Academy and Sabitri National School.

The Division has fined Rs 5,000 those schools who have not updated IEMIS software and Rs 10,000 to the schools who have not acquired the software, said Division Chief, Arbinda Lal Karna.

In the first-phase, the schools were fined and further action would be taken if the schools do not acquire and update the software, he added.

Karna shared that preparation has been made to take action against those schools entering wrong data while updating the IEMIS software.

The schools facing action have been asked to appear at the Educational Administration Division with a receipt of payment of fine and receipt of update of IEMIS software within July 16, mentioned Karna.
