SC orders show cause on writ filed against PM Dahal and Baburam Bhattarai

The Supreme Court (SC) issued a show-cause order on the writ petition filed against Maoist Center Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and former Maoist leader Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai for allegedly using child soldiers during the decade-long Maoist insurgency.

NC General Secy urges President Deuba to hand over leadership

Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has urged party President Sher Bahadur Deuba to hand over the leadership and not to show greed for premiership anymore. Speaking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Tuesday, the NC General Secretary said that party leadership has to realize its high time for the transfer of power to the younger generation.

President Paudel’s health status normal; to be discharged tomorrow

Health condition of President Ramchandra Paudel who is undergoing treatment at Martyr Gangalal National Heart Centre is normal, the hospital sources said. President Paudel who reached the hospital this morning for routine health check will be kept under observation at the hospital for 24 hours as per the doctor’s advice, Executive Director of the Hospital, Dr Chandramani Adhikari informed.

Microbus, jeep service to be operated from New Bus Park from June 16

Long, medium and short distance vehicles heading outside the Valley would operate their service from the New Bus Park, Gongabu, from June 16. According to Microbus and Jeep Coordination Committee, jeep and microbus service, which is being operated from different places of Kathmandu, would be operated from the New Bus Park.

NC will not compromise on ideology: Gagan Thapa

Mets caution people over risk of heat waves

The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has urged people in the central and western areas in the Tarai belt to observe precautionary measures against the heat wave as it would prevail for four more days. The Division said that an abrupt rise was recorded in the maximum temperatures in those areas in the Tarai belt lately while the temperatures exceeded 40 degree Celsius in the recent days resulting in heat wave.

NEPSE rises by 34 points on Tuesday

The Nepal Stock Market (NEPSE) stock market increased by 34 points double digits on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week. The stock market index increased by 34.17 points to 2020.64 points today. While the shares of all the groups increased, the shares of the insurance, hotel, and business groups increased remarkably.
