SC hearing on writ against PM Dahal and Former PM Bhattarai

Justice Malla's bench to execute hearing



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) is hearing the ‘alleged war crime’ related writ petition filed against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai on Tuesday.

According to SC sources, the single bench of Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla is scheduled to conduct a hearing on the writ against the Prime Minister.

The then minor combatant of CPN-Maoist Lenin Bist and others filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Sunday demanding that PM Dahal and former PM Bhattarai be prosecuted for ‘war crimes’ of using the children in war.

The petitioners have made Prime Minister Dahal, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the then Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, National Human Rights Commission, and other agencies the opponents in the case.
