NA makes its first international flight in Bhairahawa on Tuesday

BHAIRAHAWA: Nepal Airlines which flew from Malaysia landed at Gautam Buddha International Airport, Bhairahawa on Tuesday morning, making its first international flight in Bhairahawa.

With this, almost after 1 year of operation of the airport, regular international flights of Nepal Airlines have started at Gautam Buddha International Airport located in Bhairahawa from Tuesday.

Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati welcomed the plane that came from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the country’s second international airport.

Airbus of the national flag carrier Nepal Airlines will fly from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu via Bhairahawa, it will now be a regular flight. Nepal Airlines’ 158-seat narrowbody aircraft brought 100 passengers from Malaysia on its first flight to Bhairahawa.

The flight of Nepal Airlines from Malaysia-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu is a ‘turn-around’ flight. In such a  ‘turn-around’ flight that takes place every Tuesday, the aircraft will disembark passengers and return; passengers cannot be retained from Bhairahawa; crew members cannot be changed and fuel cannot be filled.

The flight from Malaysia to Bhairahawa is scheduled for 4 hours and 45 minutes. NA will will disembark passengers at Bhairahawa, and go to Kathmandu afterwards.

NA has fixed Rs 31 thousand as fare rate for Malaysia-Bhairahawa, and  Rs 56 thousand as the rate for Malaysia-Kathmandu.

While Jazeera Airlines and Himalaya Airlines made some international flights before, they have stopped their service now.
