Admission-related dispute disturbs FSU election schedule in eight campuses

KATHMANDU: As the Free Students Union (FSU) elections are approaching, the election process has been disrupted in the 8 campuses of Tribhuvan University.

Although candidates were nominated in campuses all over the country on March 11, the election process has been disturbed in 8 campuses. According to Pashupati Adhikari, director of the Directorate of Student Welfare and Sports, the election process was stopped due to a dispute between the student organizations regarding admission.

He informed that the election process has been blocked in Trichandra Campus, Bishwabhasha Campus and Ayurveda Campus in Kathmandu Valley and Prithvi Narayan Campus Pokhara, Mahendra Multiple Campus Nepalgunj, Siddhanath Bigyan Multiple Campus Mahendranagar, Dhawalagiri Campus Baglung and Birendra Campus Chitwan outside the valley.

“The campus chiefs have been instructed to proceed with the election process by resolving the campus admission dispute,” Adhikari said, adding, ” We are hopeful that all campuses will get their student leaders elected.”
