Province-1 CM Karki gets vote of confidence

The Chief Minister of Province No. 1 Hikmat Kumar Karki has garnered the vote of confidence from the province assembly meeting today. The province assembly meeting was summoned for 1:00 pm this afternoon. In the 93-member province assembly, UML’s Karki got 59 votes on Friday.

Gandaki CM Adhikari garners vote of confidence

Gandaki province Chief Minister Khagaraj Adhikari has got the vote of confidence from the province assembly on Friday. UML leader Adhikari got 31 votes in the 60-member province assembly. He entertained the support of the CPN-Maoist Center and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane released on bail

Former captain of the Nepali national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane, who was alleged of raping a minor, has been released from jail today (Friday). The Patan High Court on Thursday ordered the release of Lamichhane, on a bail of Rs 20 lakhs. He was accused of raping a minor.

RPP demands four ministries, including Deputy PM

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has demanded 4 ministries, including Deputy Prime Minister, to join the government. RPP has said it would join the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda if it got four ministries.

Season of ‘big merger’ of commercial banks, eight banks merge with each other

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) then Governor Dr Chiranjibi Nepal made a provision of the commercial banks to have paid up capital of Rs 8 billion through the monetary policy of the Fiscal Year 2072/73 BS. The timeline given for this was until the end of Asar, 2074 BS.
