Nawalparasi jeep accident update: Death toll reaches seven



MADHYABINDU: A person who was severely injured in a jeep accident took place at Devchuli Municipality-9 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) this morning has died, taking the number of casualties to seven.

Chiran Aryal of Madhyabindu Municipality-2 who sustained serious injuries in the accident died while undergoing treatment at Chitwan-based Old Medical College, said Deputy Superintendent Bed Bahadur Paudel of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).

The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 3270) on its way towards Daldale Bazaar from Majhdanda of Baudikali rural municipality met an accident at Goreghumti, Devchuli Municipality-9.

With this, the number of people killed in the accident has reached seven. Three men and three women had died on the spot.

Among those six who died on the spot, the identities of five have been established. The deceased have been identified as the jeep driver 26-year-old Bahadur Ale Magar, 55-year-old Tekman Wantakki Magar, 52-year-old Kumari Rana and 45-year-old Kamala Wantakki Magar of Majhdanda, Baudikali-6 and 12-year-old Karisma Thada of Chulibojha, Bulingtar rural municipality-4, said Deputy Superintendent Bed Bahadur Paudel of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).

The name and address of one of the deceased has not been identified yet. The jeep veered off the road and rammed into a house on the roadside.
