Two killed in fire incident in Gorkha



GORKHA: Two members of the same family were killed when a house at Huchlachok, Dharche rural municipality-1 of the district caught fire last night.

Those killed in the incident are 75-year-old Kanchhi Gurung and her son Chandra Singh Gurung, 39, said Deputy Superintendent Ramesh Kumar Shrestha, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, Gorkha.

The Gurungs’ single storey house with corrugated zinc sheet roof suddenly caught fire last night, killing them, it is said. The fire was brought under control through the joint efforts of the locals and a police team mobilized from the Jagat Police Post.

According to Shrestha, the charred bodies of the mother and son were found inside the house while conducting a search after putting off the fire. The house has been completely gutted by fire.
