Economy unquestionably facing a dire situation: PM Dahal

Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has issued a stark warning about the precarious state of the economy, urging the necessity of making bold decisions to avert a worsening crisis. Speaking at the National Economic Debate in Kathmandu on Thursday, PM Dahal emphasized that the nation’s economy remains in a critical condition. He said, “The economy is unquestionably facing a dire situation. Failing to proactively adopt bold measures may lead us into even more challenging circumstances.”

ACC U-19 Premier Cup: Nepal registers resounding victory over Iran

In a remarkable display of skill, Nepal’s U-19 cricket team opened the ACC U-19 Premier Cup in Malaysia with an outstanding victory, led by Captain Dev Khanal’s record-breaking century. The team clinched a resounding win over Iran, defeating them by a substantial margin of 274 runs. Nepal’s pursuit began by setting a challenging target of 354 runs for Iran.

Kedar Karki asserts claim for Chief Minister of Koshi State

Kedar Karki, a member of the Nepali Congress (NC) in the Koshi Province Assembly, has made a move by staking his claim for the position of Chief Minister. Hearing on rape case involving Sandeep Lamichhane postponed

The scheduled hearing for the minor rape case involving cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane was postponed today. The Kathmandu District Court’s hearing slated for today was delayed due to an inadequate number of available judges. As per the Information Officer, Deepak Dahal, only 21 out of the 30 judges assigned to the District Court were present.

Gold price up by Rs 700 per tola today

Gold price increased by Rs 700 per tola (11.7 grams) in the domestic market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been set at Rs. 109,500 per tola, while standard gold is being traded at Rs. 109,000 per tola. The precious yellow metal was valued at Rs. 108,800 per tola, and standard gold at Rs. 108,300 per tola on Wednesday.

Sudurpaschim Province: UML leadership elected through consensus

All office bearers of the CPN-UML Sudurpaschim Province Committee have come to a unanimous decision regarding their leadership positions. The leadership team is now comprised of Krishna Prasad Jaishi from Achham as Sudurpaschim Chairman. Likewise, Kali Bahadur Shahi from Bajura has been elected as Vice Chairman, Ran Bahadur Chand from Kailali as Secretary.

Police opens fire in Gokarneswor to control bandits
