Electricity supply in Kathmandu to be impacted until Oct 21

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority’s Kathmandu Grid Division has stated that electricity service in various locations across Kathmandu will be impacted until October 21, owing to the ongoing upgrade of the 66/11 KV substation in Lainchour.

As part of the upgrade, the electricity supply to several areas, including those served by the Lainchour substation, will be temporarily disrupted.

These affected areas encompass Samakhushi, Thamel, Durbar Marga, Lazimpat, and Panipokhari.

To mitigate the inconvenience, the NEA has devised alternative arrangements for the uninterrupted power supply to the aforementioned areas.

The electricity will be sourced from Bhrikutimandap, Kamalpokhari, Dillibazar, Kshetrapati, Asan, Mahabuddha, New Road, Putlisadak, Gongabu, Ranibari, and Baluwatar during the period of the upgrade.

Hence, residents and businesses in these areas are advised to expect temporary disruptions in their electricity service during this crucial maintenance period, which is expected to last for a few days until October 21.
