CA Chairman Subas Nembang’s funeral on Thursday



KATHMANDU: The funeral of the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Subas Chandra Nembang, has been scheduled for Thursday at 11 am.

This decision was taken by the CPN-UML secretariat meeting held at party’s central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur on Tuesday.

The government has decided to give state honors to Nembang and grant mourning leave on the day of the funeral.

UML has also suspended all official programs in mourning. UML has decided to keep the party flag at half mast for three days.

Nembang’s eldest son, Mingso Nembang, who is in Britain, is arriving in Nepal just after 4 pm tomorrow. The younger son Suhang, who went to Australia 15 days ago, will arrive Kathmandu at 11 pm today.

UML Secretary Pradeep Gyawali informed that Nembang’s body will be kept at the Party Central Office Chyasal for the whole day tomorrow as the family requested that the funeral be held only after the arrival of the sons.

Nembang has 2 daughters and 2 sons. The daughters are in Kathmandu.

Nembang died of a heart attack at 1:40 pm on Monday.

TU Teaching Hospital declared Nembang dead immediately after he was rushed there.
