I will not become a Minister now, will contest in PM when time comes: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said that he is not in the race to become a minister.

Mentioning that he is the General Secretary of the party and a Member of Parliament, he said that he will work for the party and put his issues in the Parliament.

Speaking at a program organized by the Society of Economic Journalists, Nepal (SEJON) in Kathmandu today, NC General Secretary Thapa also said that he will not become a minister but rather would contest in the post of Prime Minister when time comes.

“The responsibility I got for 5 years is the responsibility of an MP. I will raise this matter with the Parliament and the Prime Minister,” he said. ” NC will make the government successful while remaining in the government.

Stating that success should not be measured based on how long the government lasted, he urged all to work to make the days in government impactful and worth remembering.
