Sindhuli bus accident death toll hits six

KATHMANDU: The death toll in the Sindhuli bus accident has reached six.

The identity of all the deceased is yet to be ascertained. The dead included three males, two females, and one child. Five of them died on the spot, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Chiranjivi Dahal.

A passenger vehicle (Ba 2 Kha 6596) skidded off the road and crashed into the retaining wall at Kuivir of Phikal Rural Municipality-4 in Sindhuli district along the Mid-hill Highway today, killing six and injuring 29 others.

The ill-fated vehicle was headed to Kathmandu from Okhaldhunga. The injured were rescued shortly and rushed to a community hospital in Golanjor Rural Municipality-7, said Dahal.

The driver of the vehicle is receiving treatment at a health facility in Ghurmi, and his condition is said to be normal.
