PM Dahal claims attempts being made to incite riots over naming of Koshi province

Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has raised concerns about an alleged attempt to incite caste-based riots amidst the ongoing debate over the naming of the Koshi province. Speaking at a gathering organized by the Samajwadi Morcha in Biratnagar on Monday, PM Dahal, also the chairman of the Maoist Center, expressed his apprehensions. He asserted that reactionary forces, religious extremists, and individuals opposing the republic are actively working to sow discord under the guise of the Koshi naming issue.

PM Dahal instructs downsizing delegation to UNGA

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has directed concerned authority to trim down the size of the delegation accompanying him to the United States for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). PM Dahal instructed Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal to reduce the delegation size from 24 members from the Prime Minister’s Office to just 5, as previously decided.

Tax official arrested with Rs 2.6 million from Nepalgunj Airport

A government official has been arrested along with Rs 2.6 million without verified source in his possession from Nepalgunj Airport in Banke district today.  He is Khagendra Sapkota working at the Inland Revenue Office at Tulasipur, Dang.

PM Dahal directs NEA to ensure regular power supply to industries for time being

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has directed Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) not to stop electricity supply to the industries until the dispute over the tariff related to dedicated feeder and trunk line is resolved. He said a study is being carried out to resolve the dispute over the tariff.

Gold smuggling case: CIB raids residence of Chinese national

In a significant development related to the smuggling case involving 9 kilograms of gold concealed within electronic cigarettes (vapes), the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police conducted a raid on the residence of Daojin Wang, the primary operative within the gold smuggling syndicate, located in Sitapaila.

UML General Secy Pokhrel meets CPC foreign department chief Liu in Beijing

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML general secretary Shankar Pokhrel and Communist Party of China (CPC) foreign department chief, Liu Jianchao, held a meeting today in Beijing. During the meeting, the UML leader who is currently on a visit to China said that Nepal is committed to the one-China policy and it will not allow any anti-China activities to occur within the Nepali territory.
