Volleyball tournament to be held to mark Teej festival

KASKI: The national women’s and men’s volleyball tournament is to be held at Lamachaur in Pokhara on the occasion of Haritalika Teej.

The Navaadarsa Community Development Society is organizing the volleyball tournament along with the Teej festival celebrations.

The volleyball tournament will be held at the playground of Indrarajya Lakshmi Secondary School in Lamachaur from September 16 to 18.

Four teams under the women’s category and five teams under the men’s category will participate in the volleyball tournament, President of the society, Swagatsingh Bhandari.

Those taking part include APF Club, Nepal Police Club, New Diamond Youth Sports Club and New Everest Volleyball Club Butwal, Manimukunda Volleyball Club Butwal, Galkot Sports Club Baglung and Gandaki.

The winner, runner-up and third-place teams in the volleyball competition will receive Rs 150,111, Rs 100,111 and Rs 50,111 respectively.

Inter-school level folk dance competition and inter-female group open Teej song competition are other attractions of the festival.
