Kathmandu District Court orders release of NC lawmaker Sunil Sharma



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has issued a directive for the release of Sunil Sharma, a lawmaker of the Nepali Congress (NC) party, who had been under detention by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) since Thursday.

The Court’s order entails the initiation of a thorough investigation subsequent to Sharma’s release.

In relation to the fake certificate allegations, Sharma was apprehended by the CIB on Thursday.

Aside from Sharma’s involvement in the counterfeit certificate case, the Court has granted the police a five-day period to probe the credentials of five doctors who have also been taken into custody.
