NC finalizes agenda for Central Committee meeting

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has finalized the agenda for its upcoming Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting, scheduled to commence on Wednesday.

The meeting will take place at the party’s Central Office in Sanepa.

During a meeting held on Monday evening at the residence of NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, the party office bearers concluded the agenda for the CWC meeting.

As per the party’s statute, the NC President and General Secretary are responsible for finalizing the agenda for the Central Committee.

Furthermore, the decisions made by the working execution committee will be presented for endorsement at the central committee meeting.

Last year, the Nepali Congress held a Central Committee meeting from July 11 to July 18, 2022.

However, due to circumstances, subsequent central committee meetings could not be convened.

In addition, the central committee is scheduled to discuss the agenda to determine the date and venue for the policy convention, which will be held prior to the Dashin festival.

The Nepali Congress is also preparing to launch a nationwide campaign to strengthen the party.

While the NC’s central committee consists of 168 members, party President Deuba is yet to nominate several central members.

Moreover, the appointment of a treasurer has not been made thus far.
