CPN-UML holding central committee meeting today

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML is holding its Central Committee meeting in Kathmandu from today.

The party’s three-day Central Committee meeting is going to be held for the first time after the elections held on November 20 last year.

Earlier, the party had decided to hold the meeting in Jhapa.

According to the party, the meeting will be held at UML’s Central Office, Chyasal in Lalitpur from May 11-13.

Deputy Head of UML Publicity Department, Bishnu Rijal said that the party decided to hold the meeting in Kathmandu due to the ongoing budget session of the Parliament and other activities.

The meeting is also likely to discuss the fake Bhutanese refugee scam. It should be recalled that UML suspended its Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi for his alleged involvement in the case related to fake Bhutanese refugees.

The party has suspended Rayamajhi until the investigation and legal action process are finalized.

The police have issued an arrest warrant against Rayamajhi, who is absconding.

His son Sandeep has been arrested by the police.
