NMA to halt all health services except emergency on Sunday
In protest against manhandling of doctors on Friday, the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has decided to halt all health services, except emergency ones, in all health institutions across the country on Sunday. A meeting of the NMA held on Saturday decided to halt all services in protest of the manhandling of a doctor by a police during President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s carcade on Friday.

President hosts cultural reception in honour of MPs
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has hosted a cultural reception in honour of the members of the House of Representatives and National Assembly. Concerted efforts are must to curb corruption: President Bhandari
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called all sides concerned to extend support and wage activism from their sides to eliminate corruption from society and establish good governance. Addressing a function organized by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority on its 32nd anniversary in the federal capital today, President Bhandari viewed corruption could be controlled with concerted efforts of political leadership, Commission and administrative leadership.
Police constable accused of assaulting doctor suspended
Senior police constable Shambhu Gurung who beat Dr. Zenith Singh, a doctor working at the National Trauma Center, has been suspended on Saturday. According to Nepal Police Spokesperson Poshraj Pokharel, senior constable Gurung has been suspended.
Govt is ruthless against corruption: PM Dahal
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that the incumbent government is committed to act ruthlessly against corruption. Addressing a program organized on the occasion of the 32nd foundation day of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Saturday, the Prime Minister made the claim on Saturday.
Nepal Samajbadi Party to get united with Maoist Center
The CPN-Maoist Center and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai-led Nepal Samajwadi Party have agreed to go for party unification at the earliest. According to a member of the party integration negotiation committee from Maoist Center, the party is going to merge with the Baburam-led Nepal Samajwadi Party immediately.
