Senior citizens regain their eye sight after operation in Nuwakot

BIDUR: A total of 46 senior citizens were able to see again after surgery at an eye camp run by Community Eye Center Nuwakot.

The senior citizen patients who were identified through the free camp conducted in Suryagadhi, Likhu and Dupcheswar Rural Municipalities of the district regained their eyesight in the surgery carried out by a team of senior ophthalmologists from Tilganga Eye Institute in Kathmandu.

Tara Bahadur Waiba, head of the center, shared that 41 patients with cataract and five people who had tumor inside their eyes underwent surgery to have their eyes restored.

Ophthalmologist Dr Rozita Parajuli said that senior citizens suffering from asthma, high blood pressure, and diabetes were given the treatment services by maintaining a balanced health condition under the supervision of doctors. The patients will remain under medical supervision for a week.
