PM Dahal and UML Chair Oli discuss cabinet expansion in Balkot

Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda reached Balkot, the residence of CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, to discuss cabinet expansion, among other issues. Prime Minister Dahal reached Oli’s residence in Balkot a day after he received an overwhelming vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

UML’s Rajendra Rawal appointed CM of Sudurpaschim Province

CPN-UML’s Rajendra Singh Rawal has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province. Province chief Devraj Joshi appointed Rawal as the Chief Minister. Rawal garnered the support of 29 province assembly members from the ruling coalition. The province assembly here has 53 members.

Man murders wife over a domestic dispute

Police have arrested a man in Arjundhara Municipality on the charge of murdering his wife. Bishwaraj Ghising, a resident of Arjundhara, killed his 36-year-old wife Pramila Bhujel Ghising over a domestic quarrel last night, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rugam Bahadur Kunwar of Area Police Office in Anaramani.

Gandaki CM Adhikari meets PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and newly-appointed Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Khagraj Adhikari held yalks on Wednesday morning. In the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, the two leaders discussed the current political situation, issues related to expansion of the cabinet in Gandaki province, among others, according to PM’s Secretariat.

Prithvi Jayanti was marked today throughout the country. The government announced a public holiday today on the occasion of the 301st Prithvi Jayanti after a gap of several years. Even though the government had canceled the holiday on the occasion of Prithvi Jayanti, the incumbent government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda announced a public holiday.

President Bhandari pays homage to Kalu Pande

President Bidya Devi Bhandari today visited the Dahachowk-based cemetery of Kaji Kalu Pande and laid a wreath on his statue. The Head-of-the-State reached Dahachowk to offer reverence to commander of the then Gorkhali army during the Nepal’s unification campaign on the occasion of the 301st birth anniversary of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the unifier of modern Nepal.
