Two arrested with more than 29 tolas of gold in Bardiya



BARDIYA: The police have nabbed two in possession of over 29 tolas of unreported gold in Bardiya.

The detained individuals, Mohan BK (29) from Banke Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-19 Rajah, Devendra Bahadur Gharti (38) from Duduwa Rural Municipality-5 Jabdahwa, and the car driver from Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-2, Banke were arrested alongside a Hyundai car bearing plate number 3-01-023-8168, which contained the gold jewelry.

According to SP Sudhirraj Shahi, a collaborative effort involving the Bagnaha, Motipur, and Katarniya Area Police Offices conducted checks along the East-West Highway, leading to the discovery of the jewelry.

The seized items, including the jewelry and the vehicle, along with the arrested individuals, have been handed over to the Customs Office in Rajapur for further necessary actions
