Hearing on proposed SC Justices set for December 15



KATHMANDU: The hearing for the proposed justices of the Supreme Court has been scheduled for December 15.

The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHC), on Sunday, discussed the objections against the proposed justices of the Supreme Court. Ten individuals have filed objections against the proposed six justices at the Supreme Court.

During today’s PHC meeting, discussions were held regarding the objections raised by the objectors against the nominees.

In a meeting held on November 21, the Judicial Council had recommended the names of Saranga Subedi, Abdul Aziz Muslim, Mahesh Sharma Paudyal, Tek Prasad Dhungana, Sunil Pokharel, and Bal Krishna Dhakal for the Supreme Court justices.

As per the constitutional provision, their appointment can take place only after approval from the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee.
