RSP to launch door-to-door campaign to thank voters

Central Committee meeting rescheduled for Nov 27-29

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced plans for a forthcoming door-to-door campaign, marking one year since the general elections.

According to reliable sources within the RSP, during a joint meeting of the central committee and parliamentary party held on Thursday, it was unanimously agreed to engage in a voter outreach initiative from November 19th to 21st. The purpose of this campaign is to express gratitude to the voters who supported the party in last year’s election on November 20th.

In the House of Representatives elections that took place on November 20th, the RSP secured an impressive 20 seats. In a subsequent by-election on April 23, the party claimed an additional seat, bringing its total to 21.

Additionally, the meeting featured a discussion regarding the departure of central committee member Mohan Bahadur Thapa. It is worth noting that former lawmaker Dr. Dhaka Kumar Shrestha, who was previously expelled from the party, publicly alleged that central member Thapa had requested 30 million rupees. In response, Thapa has filed a defamation lawsuit against Shrestha in the Kathmandu District Court. In light of the ongoing legal dispute, Thapa has chosen to step down from his official position within the party until the matter is resolved. This decision was accepted by the central committee during their meeting.

Furthermore, the RSP has scheduled a central committee and parliamentary party meeting from November 27th to 29th in Jaleshwor, Mahottari. It’s worth mentioning that a previously planned central committee meeting, set for November 8th and 9th, had been postponed due to the earthquake in Jajarkot.
