Nepal mourns in solidarity as tribute to Nepalis killed in Israel

KATHMANDU: The nation joins in mourning as it pays heartfelt tribute to the Nepali lives tragically lost in Israel in militant attacks.

In a solemn gesture of respect, all government offices across Nepal, as well as Nepal’s diplomatic missions worldwide, will fly their flags at half-mast.

Underlining the government’s commitment to bring closure to this painful chapter, authorities are coordinating with the Nepal Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, to repatriate the remains of the 10 Nepalis who lost their lives in the incident.

The Embassy of Nepal in Israel is playing a vital role, collaborating closely with the Israeli government to locate any missing Nepali citizens and ensure that those who are injured receive the necessary medical care.

In a demonstration of solidarity with the affected families, the government has announced financial assistance of Rs 1 million for each of the Nepali students who tragically lost their lives in the recent terrorist attacks in Israel.

Moreover, for those Nepali citizens who wish to return to their homeland, the government has arranged chartered flights through Nepal Airlines Corporation and Himalayan Airlines.

To streamline this process, the Nepali Embassy has been directed to ensure the online registration of all Nepali citizens who are planning to return home.

Furthermore, the Embassy is authorized to hire local language experts for a period of three months to facilitate the rescue and repatriation efforts.

The Nepal Embassy has also been granted permission to establish a Temporary Transit Home to effectively coordinate and carry out rescue operations, as well as to provide crucial support for the safe repatriation of our fellow Nepalis.
