NC should go united: Dr. Shashank Koirala

RAMECHHAP: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shashank Koirala has said that the NC has no other alternative but to unite firm and move ahead for nation-building.

At a program organized by Nepali Congress, Ramechhap, on Sunday on the occasion of 110th birth anniversary of BP Koirala, leader Koirala mentioned that the NC should be ready to contest the polls without alliance while accepting that the party has become weak due to groupism.

He shared, “The NC is a fine political party on the basis of its ideology and all leaders and cadres should be honest in the implementation. I say with determination that none of the forces can defeat the NC if it moves ahead being united based on its ideology.”

On a different note, the NC leader indicated that he might contest for the post of president in upcoming 15th general convention if cadres realized his need. He further said that the NC should not be diverted from the BP’s thoughts as it is the power of the NC.

He viewed that politics is a matter of politicians and the trend of knocking on the door of Supreme Court in every matter has increased political risk, suggesting political parties to find the solution of problems by holding discussions together. He added that politics is done by politicians, not by the Supreme Court.

Saying that he is always in favor of religious freedom, NC leader Koirala pointed out the need of religious freedom in the country.
