Educational Certificate forgery case: Two more doctors arrested



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two more doctors on the charge of obtaining fake educational certificates.

According to SP Navraj Adhikari informed of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police two more are arrested on educational certificates forgery allegations on Thursday.

The arrested include Ranjit Kumar Yadav of Pipara-8, and Amit Chaudhary of Kohalbi-8, Mahottari.

Yadav was working in a private clinic while Amit was working in a teaching hospital.

Earlier on Thursday, Nepali Congress lawmaker Sunil Sharma was also arrested from Mandikhatar in Kathmandu on charges of procuring fake educational certificates.

CIB has arrested three persons by conducting the ‘Foxtrait Charsi’ operation. SP Adhikari said that this campaign is going on all over the country.

The CIB received information from the Nepal Medical Council that the doctors submitted Indian fake certificates and registered with the Nepal Medical Council and participated in the registration certificate examination conducted by the council.

After receiving the information, the CIB contacted the National Examination Board Sano Thimi to investigate and verify the educational certificate.

However, after Sunil Sharma’s ISC record was not found in Sano Thimi’s records, CIB arrested him. The police arrested them for doing the same to other doctors.
