Top leaders discussed measures to make parliament effective: NC chief whip Lekhak



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and  CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli held a discussion on Wednesday ‘to make the budget session of parliament effective’.

According to NC chief whip Ramesh Lekhak, the top leaders discussed various issues including Truth and Reconciliation Commission bill, Comprehensive Peace Accord and making parliament more effective.

The leaders had met at Prime Minister’s office in Singha Durbar and held discussion for one and half hours.

“The leadership in the parliamentary committees, Truth and Reconciliation Commission bill, and the budget were the major issues discussed during the top leaders’ meeting today,” Lekhak said while coming out from the meeting.

The top leaders have intensified their meeting at a time when the high-profiled politicians are dragged to the fake Bhutanese Refugee scam.

UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has been absconding and NC leader and former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has been arrested and presented before the court for investigation of their involvement in the fake refugee case.
