TIA GM Thakur suspended over audio leak case

15 arrested on charge of smuggling rhino horn

The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested 15 people on the charge of their involvement in the smuggling of a rhino horn. Acting on a tip-off, a squad from the Bureau on January 3 detained two in possession of a rhino horn weighing 522 grams from Saraswotinagar of Kathmandu-7 and remaining 13 were apprehended subsequently at different dates.

Gold price down by Rs 1,300 per tola today

The price of gold decreased by Rs 1,300 per tola (11.66 grams) in the domestic market today compared to the previous rate. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold is fixed at Rs 103,600 per tola and standard gold is traded at Rs 104,900 per tola.

Earthquake occurs in Rukum Paschim

An earthquake of 4.2 magnitude occurred at Syalakhadi of Rukum Paschim. The quake took place at 8:52 this morning. The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, Lainchaur, said that the earthquake with its epicenter at Syalakhadi of Rukum Paschim district happened at 8:52 am today.
