Common personality deserves to be President: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said he and his party were clear for a common personality to be elected the country’s new President because it is the ultimate position to protect the constitution.

PM Dahal said that past experience also warrants that the Head of the State should be a common figure.

The past mistakes should be taken into account, he said, reiterating the need for a common personality for the Highest Position of the State.

He also urged all for the true implementation of the constitution, as the political system and the constitutional document, he said, are for the overall welfare of the people.

“We got the constitution through great sacrifices of the people. Around seven decades have been invested for it. Our constitution is a document of political consensus and agreement,” he added.

According to Maoist Center’s General Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung, PM Dahal said that the Maoist Center would conduct a two-month-long nationwide organizational campaign.

As part of the campaign, the Maoist Centre will reach the people and garner their feedback.
