Parliament meeting underway; PM Dahal seeking vote of confidence



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is underway at the Federal Parliament.

Addressing the parliament meeting, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is seeking a vote of confidence.

According to Article 76(4) of the Constitution, a vote of confidence must be taken within 30 days of the appointment of the Prime Minister.

Prachanda has garnered the support of CPN-UML, Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, Janamat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party and some independent parliamentarians.

The Unified Socialist Party has also decided to give a “conditional” vote of confidence to Prime Minister Dahal.
