KATHMANDU: The government has announced a public holiday on Paush 27 on the occasion of the Prithvi Jayanti.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to give a public holiday on Paush 27, according to Minister without Portfolio Rajendra Rai.

The cabinet decided to announce the public holiday on Paush 27 by addressing a demand of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), one of the ruling alliance parties.

Likewise, the Common Minimum Program of the government announced earlier today also includes the issue of giving public holiday on Paush 27.
