PM Dahal taking vote of confidence in HoR today



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is taking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives (HoR) today (Tuesday).

Dahal, who took the oath of the Prime Minister on  December 26, has already requested the Parliament Secretariat to arrange to table the agenda of the vote of confidence in the parliament.

“The Prime Minister has sent a letter to include the subject of the vote of confidence on the agenda of the Parliament,” Spokesperson of the Parliament Secretariat, Rojnath Pandey said.

Dahal became the Prime Minister with the support of seven parties in accordance with Article 76 of the Constitution.

There is a constitutional provision that a person who has become the Prime Minister should take a vote of confidence within one month of swearing in.

The first meeting of the new House of Representatives was held on Monday.
