KATHMANDU: Angchiring Sherpa, the President of Asian Treks, has announced plans to construct five new luxury hotels in the Everest region.

Sherpa said he aims to offer lavish amenities to adventure enthusiasts visiting the area considering the escalating influx of tourists.

Notably, Sherpa currently operates five hotels in the Khumbu region.

Upgradation of these existing hotels is already underway, which were initially built and managed over three decades ago and are recognized as premier accommodations in the Khumbu region.

Additionally, Sherpa has been constructing hotels in Tengboche and Phakding over the past few years, catering to tourists venturing into the Khumbu region.

Sherpa confirmed that construction is underway at both sites, with plans to open the new hotels within a year, each offering 28 rooms.

Formerly operating under the name Himalayan Eco Chain Hotel, Sherpa’s hotels have now been rebranded as ‘Himalaya Eco Hotel.’

“The groundwork is complete, and construction will commence following the finalization of the banking procedures,” Chairman Sherpa stated.
