32 Nepali students rescued from Hamas-targeted area of Israel

KATHMANDU: 32 Nepali individuals who were stuck in a perilous situation due to a deadly attack carried out by the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, in Israel have been successfully evacuated.

These individuals were part of a group of 49 students from Sudurpaschim University who had embarked on an 11-month ‘Learn and Earn’ program in Israel on September 11 and 12.

32 of these students were successfully rescued from the crisis, on Monday.

Among the 49 students from Sudurpaschim University, 17 were situated at Kibbutz Alumim, located in southern Israel near the Gaza Strip.

Tragically, the attack on their farm resulted in the loss of 10 lives, with four others sustaining injuries and currently being treated at a local hospital.

Additionally, two individuals emerged unharmed, while one remains uncontactable, as confirmed by the Nepali Embassy in Israel.

The 32 students who were successfully rescued on Monday have been relocated to a safe area in Beit Kama.
