National Assembly meeting taking place today

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the National Assembly (NA) is taking place today.

The NA meeting was postponed on Friday due to obstructions from the main opposition party, CPN-UML.

NA Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina had permitted parliamentarian Bimala Ghimire to air her views after the UML lawmakers stood from their respective seats as a gesture of protest at the outset of the meeting.

The UML has been obstructing meetings of both the NA and the House of Representatives over Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s recent statement in a public event that an individual had dashed off to the Indian capital city-New Delhi-to create an enabling environment for Dahal to become the Prime Minister.

Deliberation on the various headings under the Appropriation Bill will be held today.

The concerned ministries will be responding to the queries of the parliamentarians on July 10 and 11.
