Sudurpaschim Province Assembly meeting postponed until 4 pm

KATHMANDU: The meeting called by Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Rajendra Singh Rawal to take the vote of confidence in the provincial assembly has been postponed.

The meeting has been adjourned until 4 pm after Rawal could not reach an agreement with the Nagarik Unmukti Party – a decisive party for the vote of confidence.

The Nagarik Unmukti Party has seven MPs in the Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly.

The leaders of the party are in Kathmandu holding talks with CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli.

On Wednesday, UML Chair Oli and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda held talks on the issue.

The Nagarik Unmukti Party has been demanding the release of those involved in the Tikapur incident, including Resham Chaudhary from jail.

Earlier today, Chairperson of Nagarik Unmukti Party Ranjita Shrestha Chaudhary has said that her party would not surrender to anybody at any cost.

She reiterated her party’s stance of not giving a vote of confidence to the government of the Sudurpaschim Province until and unless the government released its party leader Resham Chaudhary.
